Conover is located in the middle of Catawba County about 50 miles northwest of Charlotte,60 miles west of Winston Salem, and 80 miles east of Asheville. Population is estimated around 7,000 people. Conover is also on the fringe of Newton and are by some referred to as Newton-Conover.Conover is just minutes to I-40.

The city of Conover recently purchased a large parcel of property that was previously known as the Broyhill furniture factory. After the plant closed in 2005 and Conover purchased the property they brainstorming uses for the property, and The Conover Station was born! This property encompases 27 acres and the main building will house a community center with a room to accommodate 250 people, a library, and a coffee shop.
